About the artist
Gabrielle Tusberg is a contemporary artist whose work explores identity, emotion, and the shifting landscapes of the interior world. Through symbolic imagery, bold chromatic choices, and expressive linework, her paintings navigate the delicate tension between beauty and unease.
Blending organic forms, psychological undercurrents, and narrative fragments, Tusberg’s visual language reflects a deep interest in vulnerability, perception, and the complex textures of human experience.
My Journey
My path to painting has been shaped by a lifelong pull toward creative expression. My father and mother are both painters and raised me in a very dynamic and creative environment. Alongside music, writing, and visual storytelling, painting became a space where emotion could exist without needing to be translated into words.
Much of my work emerges from periods of transition, introspection, and personal evolution. The canvas often becomes a place to process, question, soften, and reimagine a visual record of internal landscapes that are constantly shifting.
My Process
My approach to painting is intuitive and process-led. I rarely begin with a rigid plan; instead, each piece unfolds through layers of color, gesture, and response.
I am drawn to bold palettes, expressive marks, and symbolic elements that surface organically. Distortion, softness, tension, and harmony frequently coexist, mirroring the emotional complexity that inspires the work.
Texture, movement, and imperfection are embraced as essential parts of the conversation between painter and painting.
What I Hope You Feel
Rather than delivering a fixed meaning, my paintings invite interpretation. I hope the work creates space — for reflection, resonance, curiosity, or simply a felt sense of connection.
Whether the response is comfort, intrigue, recognition, or quiet dissonance, the experience belongs to the viewer.
